Job Summary
A RCP III is a Registered Respiratory Therapist who has been validated by successful completion of the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) requirements for professional RCP license by the Texas Medical Board and have minimum of 4 years of work experience in respiratory care.
An RCP III is an advanced respiratory therapist who actively role models the behaviors associated with the art and science of Respiratory Care. An RCP III mentors others (therapists, physicians, nurses) and creates an environment for the delivery of safe patient care by being recognized as an expert in various modalities of Respiratory Care. They assist others (therapists, physicians, nurses) in developing their skills and knowledge regarding various respiratory modalities.
Minimum Qualifications
Degrees:
Associates Degree; Graduate of Respiratory Care program accredited by the commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) or other accrediting body approved by the Advisory Board.
Bachelor's Degree Preferred; Graduate of a Respiratory Care program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) or other accrediting body approved by the Advisory Board
Licenses & Certifications:
-Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board for Respiratory Care.
- Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association (AHA)
-ACLS from the American Heart Association (AHA)
-Respiratory Care Practitioner from the Texas Medical Board
--NRP from American Association of Pediatrics (AAP) is required if working on Neonatal Unit
Work Experience:
Four (4) Years Work Experience in a Respiratory Care Department as a practicing therapist in the; IMU, Emergency Center and All Adult ICUs (Or) Neonatal ICU.
Language Skills:
Bilingual preferred
Communication Skills: Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contact), Exceptional Verbal (e.g., Public Speaking), Writing /Composing (Reports)
