JOB SUMMARY:
The Lead Rapid Response Team Nurse (LRRTN) serves as the frontrunner of the multi-disciplinary team and coordinates the execution of rapid response system encompassing detection, activation, response, assessment and stabilization, disposition and evaluation. The LRRTN facilitates and responds to Rapid Response and Code Blue activations and Sepsis Alerts. The LRRTN operates under the guidelines of the Rapid Response Team/Code Blue Team/Sepsis Alert standardized procedures. The LRRTN facilitates team huddles, debriefings and evaluation of the rapid response system, structure and process. The LRRTN contributes to quality and performance improvement initiatives and provides ongoing education and training to staff.
The LRRTN is responsible for the provision of safe and emergency patient care in a manner that is consistent with professional standards and hospital policies. The LRRTN upholds high standards of integrity and ethical behavior, mentors others, and role models professionalism.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Education/Licensure/Specialized Training:
a. Education:
i. Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing. Holds one (1) of the following: Bachelors, Masters, or Doctoral degree.
b. Licensure/Certification/Training:
i. Licensed to practice professional nursing in the state of Texas
ii. Certification in critical care or emergency nursing specialty (CCRN/CEN)
iii. NIHSS stroke certification
iv. Crisis Intervention training
2. Work Experience: Three (3) years nursing experience with two (2) years in ICU or Emergency Center
3. Management Experience: One (1) year related leadership experience

2. Other Skills: Analytical, Medical Terms, Mathematics, PC, Word Proc.
3. Advanced Education:
Advance Training Specialty: Certification in critical care or emergency nursing
Bachelor's Degree Major: Nursing
Master's Degree Major: preferred
4. Work Schedule: Weekends, Holidays, Flexible
