Training and Development Manager
Responsible for the overall coordination of all training activity throughout the credit union. Iterates on and implements the strategy for Harborstone training and development programs. Designs, develops, and updates training programs to support operational strategic plans and business objectives. Understands fundamentals of instructional design and develops courses, tools, and programs with proper application of these fundamentals to inspire, educate, and engage team members. Develops tools to measure progress and evaluate effectiveness of all training programs and processes. Tracks and assesses the progress of trainees through routine tests, observation and feedback. Improves training effectiveness by developing new approaches and techniques, making support readily available, and integrating support into routine job functions. Facilitates training using a variety of methods including in-person, group facilitated, and virtual formats. Supports training financial objectives by recommending budget items; controlling costs within department, and others.
Primary Functions:
- Prioritizes continuous learning and development and participates in educational opportunities for self and department.
- Create awareness of offerings and impact of learning and development on the organization.
- Routinely observes and evaluates Talent and Development Specialists.
- Collaborates with managers and supervisors to assess team member development needs and makes recommendations for improving team member performance.
- Proactively partner with business leaders to identify, conduct needs assessments, and solve day-to-day challenges with holistic programmatic solutions.
- Maintains personal networks and actively participates in professional organizations.

Required Experience/Education:
- Seven or more years of previous experience in designing, delivering, and managing enterprise-wide learning and development programs preferred.
- Five or more years supervisory/management experience preferred.
- Five years' experience in training in a financial institution preferred.
- A certificate in Instructional Design and Facilitation is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in education, training and development, organizational development, human resources, or equivalent combination of education and work experience required.
