Administrative Assistant/Student Welcome Center Operator for the Division of Student Services
New River Community College (NRCC) is a comprehensive community college located in the New River Valley of Virginia. Responsibilities:
* Serve as the receptionist for the Student Welcome Center using initiative and good judgment to see that students and visitors are directed to the appropriate college offices and resources.
* Assist students and advisors with student appointment scheduling.
* Manage online, phone, and in person requests and general inquiries for information regarding NRCC and its programs.
* Assist students with the operation of the following: PeopleSoft, financial aid, college application, and the internet upon request.
* Actively participate in the course registration process.
* Prepare, copy, and disseminate program materials as needed.
* Assist in the planning and coordination of division events.
* Assist with electronic file scanning/storage.
* Serve as the placement testing liaison with testing vendors, the VCCS, and local high schools.
* Maintain and monitor budgets for all departmental accounts in the division.
* Coordinate procurement for items requested by the division and approved by the student services coordinators or the dean, using current procurement protocol of the shared services model.
* Maintain strategic documents for the division.
* Assist with other administrative tasks as assigned by student services coordinators and the dean.
* Schedule appointments and meetings for student services coordinators and the dean as necessary.
