Description:
As our newly created Development Director, you will lead the fundraising efforts of Grandstreet Theatre. You will be responsible for growing our fund drive, sponsorships and fundraising events to propel our theatre into the next phase of our evolution. Your time will be spent cultivating relationships with funders, donors, sponsors and foundation directors. You will lead a team of volunteers and board members to plan and implement development strategies to support our mission.

Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in business, communications, public relations, theatre, journalism or English, or comparable fundraising and development experience.
- Excellent writing skills.
- A clear and pleasant manner of communicating with an easy ability to form relationships and connect with people of all walks of life.
- Attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
- Commitment to achieving high standards within limited resources.
- Capacity to sit or stand for long periods, work at a computer extensively, and lift/carry up to 20 pounds.
Preferred experience:
- Four years of experience in development/fundraising and arts-based grant writing.
- A love for locally grown, live theatre.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and a variety of timelines and deadlines concurrently.
- Experience using creativity, independent judgment and self-motivation to form innovative ideas.
- Familiarity with local foundations, donors and development resources.
- Proficiency with personal computers and fundraising/event software
- Experience with event planning and volunteer management.
- Fluency in various forms of social media, Facebook, Instagram, etc
- Beautiful handwriting and a good sense of humor
