Senior Information Governance & Records Management Analyst
Summary
The Senior Information Governance Records Management Analyst is responsible for providing input to develop and support the organizations strategic plan relating to the effective management of information. This will include a range of initiatives, which include but are not limited to the organization of outbound and inbound information, administrative oversight of technology platforms and the effective application of established governance and retention practices. Assists with oversight and management of the Record Custodians/Liaisons of GEHA's functional areas. Provides training and assistance to the Record Custodians/Liaisons for compliance to the Records Retention Schedule.
This role is expected to accomplish all duties with a commitment to service, quality work product and an atmosphere of teamwork and continuous improvement.
Duties
- Evaluates and reviews current information governance policy and processes in order to develop standardized practices across the organization to improve efficiency and adherence to legal and regulatory requirements
- Develops best practices for records information management (RIM), electronically stored information (ESI) and information governance (IG) operations
- Administration of IGRM technology solutions including workflows, integrations and analytics
- Works with Information Technology (IT), compliance and legal professionals to create, organize and document the processes with which data is collected, shared, utilized, protected, cleaned and stored
- Provides support and guidance for maintaining, updating and administration of email archiving permissions for records retention purposes, consistent with records management and IT guidelines
- Provides guidance on the organizations information governance and record management policies, objectives and goals.
- Participates in project related activities to ensure that information governance and record management objectives are included in project objectives
- Assists in self-assessments or audits
- Reviews and coordinates research and responses to records and information controls and requests, including litigation holds, preservation notices, discovery requests, and departmental moratoriums
Education Requirements
A Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Management, Information Science or related field is helpful, but we are open to candidates from non-traditional backgrounds who have transferrable skills.
Experience Requirements
- Four years of experience of information management (including electronic data), and/or Information Governance or Records Management Professional certification
- Substantial familiarity with Microsoft Office products, SQL databases and SharePoint
- Knowledge and experience working with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data
- Dependable team player, able to provide and follow written and/or oral instructions, with excellent judgement about when escalation is necessary or appropriate
- Ability to identify and analyze complex data-related issues to recommend solutions.
- Excellent organizational skills including record keeping, data collection, and system information
- Time management skills, including the ability to set priorities, flex with changes in requirements and meet deadlines
- Ability to handle pressure in a constructive and positive manner and provide creative resolution of problems as they arise.
- Demonstrated initiative, commitment to professional growth for self and others.
Preferred
- Administration experience with records management software, or document management systems, and archival software solutions preferred
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Reporting Services, Power BI and Tableau is a plus
