A part of the Brand and Network Marketing function, the Content Marketing team fuels brand appeal and audience growth by promoting relevant, captivating and differentiated content produced by our national flagship, USA TODAY, and our 250+ distinct local publications. Our network’s massive archive of impactful, award-winning journalism comes to life in ways both traditional and innovative — from premium digital long reads to video, podcasts, visual explainers, live events and emerging formats such as augmented and virtual reality. Content Marketing's job is to draw from that massive archive to drive demand and brand affinity among new and loyal audiences alike by amplifying the stories and experiences that matter most to them.
We are seeking a Senior Marketing Manager to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity within this newly developing but impactful discipline. In this role, you will help create, build and launch new marketing strategies and campaigns that leverage our differentiated content to drive audience growth and brand relevance across our portfolio of publications. This position reports to the Sr. Director of Content Marketing & Social Media. The ideal candidate understands the marketing funnel and how to optimize it at each stage. You've worked alongside creative and media teams to craft notable activations that drove business impact and have managed agency partners from brief to execution. Success in this role hinges on your ability to partner with teams across our large and highly collaborative organization to bring complex campaigns to life. Exemplary communication, organizational and project management skills are a must.

You balance data and insights with a strong instinct for popular culture and emerging trends and share information in all directions with a friendly and collaborative spirit.
Responsibilities include:
· Build and implement marketing and go-to-market strategy around a dedicated content business line, driving key business and customer metrics, in coordination with the rest of the Marketing team, including Growth, Retention, Social and PR
· Play an integral role in establishing and optimizing an “always-on” content promotion pipeline to continuously reach and engage new audiences at scale
· Manage media and creative agency partners in the development of innovative marketing programs and campaigns to grow content awareness and engagement among different audiences across various platforms
· Coordinate end-to-end campaign orchestration — from establishing the strategy and brief development, through creative and media execution, to measurement and reporting, ensuring clear communication throughout each step of the process
· In partnership with data intelligence teams, socialize campaign strategy, results and learnings in presentations to key stakeholders, including executive leadership.
· Build and manage collaborative relationships with editorial teams to continuously align plans and activity.
What you bring:
· 5 years of experience in a marketing function at a publisher, brand or agency focused on brands
· Demonstrated success managing breakthrough consumer campaigns with heavy utilization of digital channels and tactics
· Strong creative problem-solving skills and demonstrated success using hypotheses, insights and data to guide business decisions
· Excellent project management skills with strong attention to detail
· Great verbal and written communication skills with experience conveying ideas to consumers and large cross-functional teams alike
· Knowledge of and interest in media, publishing and journalism
· Deep understanding of contemporary social media networks and how to effectively leverage both paid and organic tactics for brands
· Hands-on experience and a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude
