Gannett’s B2B Marketing team is looking for a Senior Email Marketing Specialist to join our growing Demand Gen and Customer Lifecycle team. This role supports our ambitious vision of driving growth and retention of our B2B business. Your work will be critical in nurturing leads, supporting the product engagement effort and driving self-serve and sales-serve revenue.
In this role, you’ll be focused on accelerating customer acquisition, upsell and retention for our Freemium product and experience. You will bring a rigorous, data-driven approach to the development and optimization of campaign and triggered emails. You will deliver impactful results by devising the right strategy of connecting targeted segmentation strategies with compelling copy and creative to drive engagement, leads and revenue.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Own highly visible, focused campaigns from beginning to end, from gathering of requirements, design and development, audience/list segmentation, testing, launch and analysis for continued improvement
· Build and maintain a marketing plan that is visible and accessible to key stakeholders
·Work across the marketing and product organization to align email initiatives with the broader business strategy
·Lead the planning process of weekly and automated email database programs, including target audience definition, key message development, and goal setting for LOCALiQ’s Freemium product.
·Own the execution of email marketing programs, including working with marketing operations to set up email sends in Marketo.
·Develop a testing strategy to gain insights and improve the customer journey from lead to registered user to paying subscriber
·Develop an ongoing reporting cadence to management across marketing and product and optimize campaigns against key metrics including open and CTRs, product engagement, conversion to registered user and conversion to paid user
·Consistently achieve on quarterly targets, including SQLs, registered users, and self-service purchases.
·Evolve database segmentation, optimizing return from leads in the database.
QUALIFICATIONS:
·Equal strengths in technical (marketing automation program structure) and creative skills (email copy development, content topics, etc.)
·Experience with email marketing for a Freemium model is a plus
·Mastering personas, creative copy writing and campaign concepts
·Consistently hitting monthly Freemium KPIs
·Expert in Marketo marketing automation and smart list optimization to build and optimize the right nurturing tracks
·A strong knowledge of the lead nurturing best practices and trends, with a eye outward to the market in analyzing competitor tactics and evolving marketing tactics
·Ability to drive consensus, resolve conflict and move a group towards a common goal
·Excellent writer and communicator
· Ability to analyze data and interpret the “story” or next steps to take
·Excellent attention to detail
