Gannett is seeking a HR Project Manager who will support the People Resources Team in achieving key initiatives. The Project Manager will identify and execute on initiatives driving change and improving efficiencies across the People Resources function. Leading multiple projects, the Project Manager will work with key stakeholders within the People Resources Team including Compensation, Benefits, HRIS, Talent Acquisition, Learning, and HRBP Operations. Having accountability for project delivery, The Project Manager will be responsible for developing formal project plans and presenting progress updates to leadership.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
·Lead major change initiatives and secure stakeholder support by integrating HR leadership as well as business leadership input into the decision-making process.
·Seek to understand complex processes and issues and clearly document the current state of existing processes and tasks
·Work with leaders and stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement on existing processes and use critical thinking to prioritize resulting projects
·Develop detailed project plans and timelines, outlining specific tasks and owners required for success completion.
·Using general HR knowledge and expertise, proactively identifies downstream impacts, potential issues and all key stakeholders related to projects
·Clearly communicates projectscope, deliverables and necessary updates required for generating and maintaining buy in
·Supports day-to-day maintenance of project plans, metrics, risk/issues as well as develops presentations as needed
·Support M&A activity, identifying HR team dependencies and responsibilities and managing activities to completion
·Will support broader team design, planning, strategy and advise on People Resource Team budgeting
Experience and Qualifications:
·Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field required, MBA or relevant Master’s degree a plus
·5+ years of experience in human resources, supporting corporate functions
·2+ years of direct project management experience
·Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills
·Strong organizational, planning and budgeting skills
·Prior experience utilizing project management tools and software
·Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a distributed team
·Must be a self-starter and be comfortable dealing with sensitive and confidential issues
