The Growth Team is dedicated to supporting the departments goals of driving aggressive digital subscription growth and optimize channel strategy to sustain the print subscription base. This team is responsible for driving all subscription types (print and digital) for 200+ local Gannett markets and USA Today. This team owns and manages the acquisition email strategy and collaborates with key internal departments to manage onsite assets, meter optimization strategy, checkout experiences as well as platforms and payment options to drive conversions.
The Email Marketing Specialist will be responsible for coordinating assets, timelines and working hand in hand with marketing operations to execute email campaigns and customer acquisition strategies. The ideal candidate will be highly analytical and detail-oriented, have a thorough understanding of data segmentation, email development, analysis and be able to continuously learn from results.
The Email Marketing Specialist must have experience with email campaigns and be willing to be hands-on on a day-to-day basis evaluating and optimizing campaigns while ensuring both short- and long-term goals are met.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with other teams such as design, analytics, product, Martech, and marketing operations to ensure tracking and deployments.
- Monitor campaign KPIs in order to make proper adjustments and identify actionable opportunities for customer segmentation and send logic to drive conversions
- Develop and run ad-hoc reports and analysis to answer key business questions as needed
- Partner with the data intelligence team to develop and enhance reporting
- Support the delivery of assets, reports, and presentations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or relevant experience
- 2+ years hands on experience developing and driving email strategy, preferably for a complex and digital-focused organization with DTC brands or products
- Strong understanding of Salesforce Marketing Cloud or other ESP’s and experience with campaign execution
- Ability to interpret data to inform actionable insights that inform campaign strategy
- Ability to effectively communicate cross-functionally with all levels
- Ability to prioritize tasks and projects appropriately, understanding what involves the most urgency
- Highly organized self-starter with strong problem solving skills and an anything is possible attitude
- Efficient in MS Office Suite, most notably PowerPoint and Excel
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of SQL and marketing automation
- Experience with Google Analytics
- Experience with Tableau
Remote work is an option, the eastern time zone is preferred
