In 2021, Gannett established 5 North Stars to guide us in achieving success. The first North Star is to accelerate digital subscriber growth and drive 1.75M digital only subscribers. This goal falls primarily on the Growth department. Our team believes in doing everything we can, wearing several hats if needed and rolling up our sleeves to accomplish what we need to meet our goals. We are testing and data driven, collaborating daily with other departments to achieve digital subscriber growth.
Job Purpose
Gannett is seeking an experienced, performance driven Growth Marketing Specialist to oversee conversion rate optimization (CRO) for our onsite subscription conversion funnel including websites CTAs, landing pages, checkout, audience segmentation and more. This is a highly
cross-functional position that requires someone skilled at strategic thinking, test ideation, data-based decision making, and executing to hit aggressive marketing objectives and business results.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and skills with a proven track of developing data based insights and recommendations to increase conversion rates across the consumer funnel. This individual will be critical in helping Gannett achieve its aggressive growth targets.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support senior manager with conversion rate optimization for consumer-facing onsite websites, campaign creative and landing pages
- Help concept, build, implement and manage a robust pipeline of optimization tests in partnership with internal teams to continuously improve conversion metrics to drive new customer acquisition
- Be the expert of onsite touch-point performance
- Oversee promotional campaign set up and launches from creative briefing to offer set up in partnership with internal and external groups
- Responsible for driving conversion performance for website touch-points including newsletter sign-ups, registrations and subscriptions
- Test various user segments and their abandonments habit/user behavior to improve customer conversion
- Reduce conversion friction in the onsite journey while establishing benchmarks
- Collaborate with UX, BI, Product and leadership to develop and test engagement and conversion journeys
Qualifications
- 2+ years proven track record of driving digital subscription growth, product or project management or consumer revenue experience
- Experience designing and executing A/B tests to drive acquisition, conversion and revenue maximization
- Proficiency in website data, marketing and analytic tools including but not limited to Google Analytics, Excel, Powerpoint, Airtable
- Strong attention to detail, outstanding organization skills and ability to work well cross-functionally
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Compensation based on experience
This role is part of the Onsite Growth team, consisting of 1 other specialist and reporting to the Senior Onsite Optimization Manager and rolling up to the Director of Onsite Growth.
