In 2021, Gannett established 5 North Stars to guide us in achieving success. The first North Star is to accelerate digital subscriber growth and drive 1.75M digital only subscribers. This goal falls primarily on the Growth department. Our team believes in doing everything we can, wearing several hats if needed and rolling up our sleeves to accomplish what we need to meet our goals. We are testing and data driven, collaborating daily with other departments to achieve digital subscriber growth.
Job Purpose
Gannett is seeking an experienced, performance driven growth marketing specialist to oversee conversion rate optimization (CRO) for our onsite subscription conversion funnel including websites CTAs, landing pages, checkout, audience segmentation and more. This is a highly cross-functional position that requires someone skilled at strategic thinking, test ideation and executing to hit aggressive marketing objectives and business results.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical with a proven track of developing data based insights and recommendations to increase conversion rates across the consumer funnel. This individual will be critical in helping Gannett achieve its aggressive growth targets.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support senior manager with conversion rate optimization for consumer-facing websites and landing pages.
- Help concept, build, implement and manage a robust pipeline of optimization tests in partnership with internal teams to continuously improve conversion metrics to drive new customer acquisition.
- You will be responsible for ensuring that we are driving growth while delivering the best experience for our customers.
- You own the KPI’s around the onsite checkout funnel, cart abandonment recaptures and how to convert these users into paying subscribers
- You are responsible for driving continuous improvement in the checkout funnel waterfall and abandonment metrics
- Understanding of clickstream data related to users path to conversion after they land on the offer page.
- You will be the expert on checkout abandonments metrics by channel and placements
- You will identify and be the expert on user segments in the checkout funnel and their abandonments habits/user behavior
- You will work to reduce checkout friction through collaboration with PDUX while establishing benchmarks and exploring best practices on checkout including (SwG, one-touch payments)
- You will collaborate with UX, BI, and other analytics teams as well as leadership to develop and test the checkout path-to-conversion improvements.
Qualifications
- 2+ years proven track record of driving digital subscription growth, CRO, product management or consumer revenue
- Experience designing and executing A/B test to drive acquisition, conversion and revenue maximization
- Proficiency in website data, marketing and analytic tools including but not limited to Google Analytics, Excel Powerpoint, Airtable
- Strong attention to detail, outstanding organization skills and ability to work well cross-functionally
- Excellent verbal and written communication skill
- Compensation based on experience
