Future Now seeks a Regional Political Director to work with state legislative candidates and caucus staff while making spending recommendations for the electoral work of The States Project.

Position Summary
The Regional Political Director (RPD) will have the opportunity to work directly with caucuses, candidates, and other in-state partners to achieve TSP electoral and TLN power-building outcomes. They will be the point of contact for TSP political work in assigned states and responsible for building relationships and interest among candidates and lawmakers, caucus staff, and leadership in TSP & TLN programming. This position reports directly to the Senior Political Director. The ideal candidate will possess superior political judgment and experience. Relevant knowledge of state legislative caucuses and campaigns is a plus.
As part of TSP's electoral program, the successful candidate will build strategic relationships, collect and analyze political data and information, and develop a deep understanding of the changing political dynamics. Specifically, they will make endorsement recommendations in assigned states, write spending plans based on best practices, and make spending recommendations based on "moneyball" tactics. They will also work directly with in-state partners, provide key strategic guidance around campaign best practices, provide oversight of campaign effectiveness and impact of TSP dollars, and track whether campaigns and caucuses are hitting specific metrics.

Responsibilities
Build and leverage relationships to increase effectiveness
- Build strategic and deep relationships with key stakeholders to further TSP electoral and TLN policy goals
- Build, manage, and oversee the relationships with caucus staff, candidates, campaign staff, and other in-state political organizations in assigned states
- Increase TSP political knowledge about each state, staying fully up to date on the latest developments in order to help TSP make the most strategic decisions possible
- Have a deep understanding and analysis of the global state legislative campaign spending landscape in each assigned state and a full understanding of spending gaps in each state
- Ensure that newly elected state lawmakers know how to access TLN lawmaker services and supports
- Build relationships to ensure access to all metrics and data necessary to analyze state legislative campaigns in the chamber
TSP Spending and Endorsements
- Draft initial plans for how TSP will do its spending in each assigned state based on knowledge of the global spending landscape and incentivize campaign best practices with our spending
- Participate in overall endorsement process and own process in assigned states for candidates that results in endorsing diverse, dynamic candidates in the most strategic seats to ensure governing power for majorities committed to America's Goals
Team
- Provide timely, relevant updates and information about candidates, caucuses, other in-state partners, and the landscape in each state to other teams
- Share best practices, identify innovations, and support operations across the RPD team

Position Details
This is a full-time exempt remote position. Once it is safe to do so, significant travel will be required. Additional evening and weekend hours are occasionally required to fulfill the duties of this position.
