Director
The Director of Warehouse Operations is responsible for directing all activities necessary to operate a safe and compliant food warehouse operations at maximum efficiency. This position works both in warehouse environment around moving power and manual equipment, and in a typical office environment. Position is subject to extreme temperatures in cooler and freezer areas of warehouse. Subject to typical level of warehouse noise. At times this position works alone.
Physical expectations: Once again, much of this work is performed in warehouse setting with adequate lighting, heating and ventilation, but frequently enters areas of extreme cold. Position requires operation of forklift and pushing/pulling of pallet movers. The position has continuous exposure to food items. Requires frequent walking or standing with frequent bending, stooping, reaching, grasping and handling of product. The position requires occasional repetitive motion of hands, wrists, and feet. Requires occasional use of desktop computer terminal. Job requires the ability to routinely lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

Ability to demonstrate and apply an understanding of the intersections between hunger, poverty, racial inequity, and social injustice and awareness of the issues faced by community members experiencing poverty or facing food insecurity.
- Advanced understanding of how to lead and develop teams by building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members. Excellent relationship building skills and the ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Strong analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices, cost analysis, trend analysis and statistical data
- Knowledge of safe food storage and food handling practices, and warehouse operations (receiving, storage, shipping, inventory control)
- Can read, speak and communicate effectively in English
- Can read, interpret, and develop documents such as policies, procedures and safety rules with the skill to achieve the desired outcome
- Ability to apply concepts of basic math: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies and applications
- Must have Washington State Food Handler's permit, ServSafe
- Manager Certification, and forklift certification, or be able to obtain all within 30 days of employment.
- Able to obtain a Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) Certification within 120 days of employment
- Minimum 5 years of management-level experience in warehousing including inventory cycle count programs. Management experience in food warehousing strongly preferred.
- Must have professional experience with developing and managing a budget, engaging in ongoing financial forecasting, and asset valuation
- Lived experience of hunger preferred
