Business Development Analyst
The Business Development Analyst will support business development efforts, daily system planning, and commercial transactions by performing difficult skilled technical, quantitative and analytical work. The role assists FMPA business development and operations with power marketing efforts and analysis of power and natural gas activities to support the transaction direction of the Agency.
In addition, the role will conduct position, financial, and risk studies to support development of and make recommendations for bid and offer positions in the market. Work involves detailed analysis under the general direction of the Business Development and System Operations Director.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or Engineering with coursework in economics/statistics, engineering, risk analysis, derivatives, commodities or related fields a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in electric power utilities industry and working with energy markets. Some commercial experience preferred.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Ability to perform analysis on significant volumes of data coming from multiple sources.
- Strong understanding of databases, business intelligence tools and how to develop queries to capture relevant information.
- Proficient with financial and risk analysis techniques.
- Strong understanding of energy load forecasting, generation production costs and energy market products a plus.
- Familiarity and interest in Commercially viable power portfolio management options.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, industry professionals, and the general public.
- Ability to summarize analysis and data in a form that can be presented to Senior Management as well as the Agency's Boards.
