Assistant/Associate Professor
Fairleigh Dickinson University seeks applicants for an Assistant / Associate Professor or a lecturer within the School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (FDU SoP&HS). Faculty candidate should have a broad understanding of the practice of pharmacy and have additional expertise in biostatistics, research design, or public health to be able to teach this content to entry-level pharmacy students.
Effective teaching is the core mission of the university. The FDU School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences prepares future pharmacists and other health care professionals for diverse roles across the health care continuum through a culture of learning, scholarship, innovation, advocacy, and leadership. The School hosts additional health sciences programs, including Master of Public Health (MPH), Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (PA), Master of Social Work (MSW), and post-professional doctorate in occupational therapy (DOT).
The faculty position is a full-time, 12-month tenure track appointment (rank and salary commensurate with skills and experience). Faculty members are expected to support the FDU School of Pharmacy mission and vision through teaching in the professional pharmacy curriculum, developing a research agenda within their discipline and providing service to the School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and University at large. Teaching assignment will primarily be at the pharmacy program, with majority of courses taught in-person at the School's Florham Park campus; teaching in other health science programs via in-person or on-line modality will also be expected as needed.
Successful applicant will:
- Have a PharmD degree with at least 1-2 years post-graduate training and either:
- Fellowship experience in epidemiology, pharmacoepidemiology, outcomes research, or other related discipline.
- MPH degree
- Show a desire to participate in expanding new educational platforms, including integration of technology and active learning;
- Be prepared to develop an advanced curriculum which integrates the Doctor of Pharmacy degree with specialized Master's programs;
- Have a vision for the future of pharmacy education as a global enterprise;
- Develop a personal philosophy and program of teaching, research and service focused on enriching students and enhancing the profession.
