Job Summary
Education Week is in the midst of a significant digital transformation and the Senior Digital Analyst joins a growing team and plays a critical role in helping us achieve our mission and business goals. Part of the Audience Engagement and Analytics team, the Senior Digital Analyst leads the analytics team to manage the integration and analysis of data from multiple sources to identify trends, expose new opportunities, and answer key business and editorial questions about audience behaviors and needs. We're looking for someone with an inherent curiosity, a knack for asking insightful questions, and a passion for solving complex problems using analytical thinking and an understanding of an organization's mission and business goals.
Responsibilities
- Analyze, develop, and implement data integrations using ETL frameworks and tools to ensure data capture in data warehouse
- Create, prepare, and maintain databases and tables to power reports, dashboards, and downstream analysis.
- Plan, create, and fine-tune data pipelines and automation workflows for reporting and BI.
- Manage data requests and detailed project activities to ensure accurate, timely and efficient reporting and analysis deliverables.
- Lead web analytics strategy, managing one direct report (Digital Analyst) to ensure optimal web analytics implementation, reporting, and analysis to meet editorial and business needs.
- Serve as a data champion across the organization helping others to understand how to use data to inform their work.
Qualifications and Skills
- 3-5 years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, statistics, data analysis, computer science, or other analytical disciplines.
- Experience using SQL and Python
- Experience with BigQuery or similar data warehouse
- Experience with BI tools, like Power BI
- Experience with web analytics (Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics) a plus

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, most of our staff is still working remotely, but we are beginning to transition staff back to the Bethesda office as conditions allow. Upon reopening, the expectation is that this position will be located and performed in the office. Candidates that live within regular commuting distance to the office or are willing to relocate to the DC/MD/VA area are preferred.
