Eastern Washington University is currently recruiting for a Grounds & Nursery Services Specialist 4. Position performs and lead others in the following: prepare ground for lawn, plants, trees and shrubs; plant trees, grass, flowers, shrubs, seeds, bulbs, and other types of foliage; seed, mow, fertilize and maintain lawns. Operate and teach others in the safe operation of power equipment such as light tractors, trucks, lawnmowers, sweepers, sprayers, and trimmers in support of gardening functions. Perform and lead others in the removal of debris, snow and ice from walks, stairways, roads and parking areas; rake leaves; pull, hoe, and cut weeds, prune, spray and fertilize trees and shrubs. Set, perform maintenance and install irrigation/sprinkler systems. Use a variety of powered and non-powered tools and implements in the performance of the functions listed.
Perform and lead others in the following: Direct the work of helpers as assigned. Maintain and tend to plants in nurseries and/or greenhouses. Assist the Landscape Maintenance Supervisor in the design, development and completion of landscaping projects.
