RN Diabetes Management East Jefferson General Hospital

Provides for the delivery of care through the utilization of the nursing process maintaining competency in age-specific criteria. Directs and guides diabetes patient/family teaching. In accordance with the American Diabetes Association's guidelines the Diabetic Educator will assist people with diabetes in learning to achieve optimal level of wellness.

 Must be a graduate of an accredited RN nursing program with a license to practice in the State of Louisiana. Must have current American Heart BLS. Previous experience in an appropriate healthcare setting is preferred. Certification as a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist is preferred.
