The Dartmouth Housing Authority is seeking an Executive Director who shall be responsible for the management of 44 State Chapter 667 Elderly/Handicapped public housing units, 84 units of Elderly/Handicapped public housing units under the auspices of MHFA (formerly Section 8 New Construction), 9 units of Veterans housing and 197 Section 8 vouchers. The candidate should be familiar with both Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) Requirements and U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). This is a 37.5-hour position; Monday through Friday.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Four years' experience in public or private housing, community development, public administration, non-profit administration, or a closely related field that demonstrates strong management and organizational skills with at least one year's supervisory experience of a staff of 3 or more. Excellent written and verbal skills are necessary to effectively communicate with local officials, boards, residents, service providers and funding agencies as well as applicants. Must have a working knowledge of fiscal management, maintenance systems, personnel, and administrative management systems in public or private housing. One should have considerable knowledge of local, state, and federal governmental procedures and regulations as they relate to housing development, construction and the management of local housing authority operations. Experience working with people of various socio-economic backgrounds is preferred. Must be bondable. Diverse applicants are encouraged to apply Certification as a Public Housing Manager from a HUD-approved organization is required, but may be substituted by certification as a property manager or similar classification by a nationally recognized housing or real estate organization or by certification as a MPHA of a DHCD-approved Massachusetts Public Housing Administrator Certification Program.
Salary Range: Salary is commensurate with experience and education and is set at a range of $75,000 to a maximum of $89,999.00 depending on experience. Position will include excellent benefits in accordance with Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) and United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) guidelines. A bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred but may be substituted for up to two years of experience.
