Full-Time Opportunity for a Lead Traffic Specialist – Stamford

Hours: Regular Business hours are Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm.
Duties: CTtransit, New England’s second-largest bus transit system, is seeking a highly motivated and public-spirited individual to join our team. As a Lead Traffic Specialist, you will play an important role in ensuring that the CTtransit system meets the present and future travel needs of 27 million annual bus riders. Duties include day-to-day scheduling and administration of Traffic Specialist staff. Collecting ridership and service data using automated and/or manual procedures in the field. Conducting various clerical duties in the office to summarize data into the appropriate reports.
Qualifications:
- Minimum possession of a High School Diploma/GED.
- At least one (1) year of office experience with an emphasis on figures and accurate record keeping. Team Lead or Supervisory experience is a plus. Previous experience as a Traffic Specialist is preferred. Additional work experience or education may be substituted for a portion of the work experience.
- Experience in riding public transportation is preferred.
- The ability to quickly learn the data collection and summary report processes is required.
- Must be able to write legibly and make arithmetic computations rapidly and accurately using calculators, hour/minute machines, a personal computer, and other office equipment.
- The employee must have a comprehensive knowledge of the city and region and the ability to quickly learn bus routes and schedule information as well as company policies and procedures.
- Valid drivers' license and the ability to be insured by our insurance company throughout employment. Individual may be required to travel in the course of their daily work.
- Proficient in software programs (word processing, spreadsheet and database), Internet applications and utilization of all relevant office equipment. The ability to learn quickly internal software programs. Must be able to handle confidential information.
- The ability to prioritize projects and have excellent communication skills (especially verbal), interpersonal skills, tact and diplomacy. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- A good work record is essential.
