Director of Business Development
Summary
The Director of Post-Acute Care (PAC) Business Development and Client Services is responsible for the oversight and implementation of the PAC strategic growth plan. In this dyad role, the individual will report to both the VP of Strategy, Marketing and Innovation and the President of Post-Acute Care to lead the "Go-To-Market" strategic plan. The individual will also manage and nurture existing affiliate relationships. The individual will both promote and represent Covenant Health as the premier PAC organization within the region and across the industry by providing thought leadership and subject matter expertise, where appropriate. This incumbent will work collaboratively to provide ongoing strategic guidance for continued growth, be accountable for achieving annual goals, demonstrate personal leadership and help foster our System's Mission.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee and implement Covenant Health's post acute care affiliation "Go to Market" strategy
- Execute and refine the PAC affiliation strategy
- Lead discussions with key stakeholders seeking to affiliate with Covenant Health
- Maintain and nurture existing relationships with both affiliated and non-sponsored Covenant PAC facilities to support ongoing growth
- Act in a consultative role in defining, refining and implementing the PAC business development strategy
- Grow awareness for Covenant Health as the premier post acute care organization in the region and across the industry
- Represent Covenant Health in professional organizations, related to the field
- Grow revenue for PAC business practices
- Provide thought leadership and subject matter expertise to the business community and centers of influence, as appropriate
- Provide post-acute market insights to Covenant Health's corporate and local leadership
- Consult with local PAC facilities to help guide the development, monitoring and measurement of marketing and communications.
- Consult with local PAC facilities to help guide their individual strategic plans to include serving as a liaison to all data requests and market intelligence, as appropriate
- Maintain continuous analysis of the competitive environment and consumer trends
- Provide oversight and continued clarification of Admission Director role and responsibilities in all Covenant Health Post-Acute Care facilities, including but not limited to, identification of barriers and implementation of admissions performance improvement plans
- Maintain collaborative team relationships with peers and colleagues
- Support and promote the Mission and Values of Covenant Health and the Catholic Health Ministry.

Job knowledge and skills
- Demonstrable commitment to the highest standard of ethical and professional conduct.
- Business development, client relationship management and executive level presentation skills.
- Knowledge of Catholic Health Care and Catholic Church generally.
- Strong foundational knowledge of the post-acute care business and industry landscape.
- Proven project management organization and business negotiation competency.
- Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills; skilled in facilitation, presentation and negotiation.
- Ability to work under pressure and challenging deadlines and adaptability and flexibility required.
Education & Experience
- Minimum of five years business development experience, preferably in post-acute care
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, public administration or another related field required, Master's Degree in related field preferred
An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.
