Director of Human Resources
35 hours per week
Summary: This is a mission-driven organization, and this role provides direction and oversight in all areas of HR including: employer/employee documentation, recruiting, employee relations, employee separation, benefits management, culture development, legal compliance, risk management, and proactive HR development. Our team provides support to our community and this position is designed to support them.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Promote and support a positive work culture and enhance job satisfaction through solid HR processes. Resolve employee issues promptly and engage employees in benefits and activities to develop our team.
- Maintain HR and employee documents efficiently and compliantly. Keep the documents and the organization compliant with all Federal and State laws. Assist in the development of any needed or new policies or processes.
- Recruit employees as needed. Conduct onboarding meeting, benefits enrollment and announcements. Collaborate with managers on an entry plan for each new or promoted employee.
- Guide managers through employee relations issues to promote employee's success. Monitor employee relations documentation to ensure proper communication and adherence to policies. Oversee all separations to reduce impact on employees and liability to the organization.
- Help organize and promote training and development opportunities within the organizations. Collaborate with managers to facilitate a growth and development culture.
- Administer all employee benefits plans.
- Administer compliance-related processes like EEO whistleblower, Workers' Compensation and Safety program, etc. Create, file and distribute all compliance reporting for EEO, ACA, OSHA, Workers Comp, etc.
- As part of the leadership team, facilitate strategic HR and enhance communication at all levels.
- Attend and participate in organization-wide and other meetings.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Solid knowledge of employment/labor laws
- Proven experience as an HR Professional in a mission-driven company
- Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Self-directed
- Excellent organizational and task management skills
- Outstanding knowledge of MS Office; HRIS systems
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Aptitude in problem-solving
- BS/BA in Business administration or relevant field
- Additional HR training will be a plus
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
