Job Description: Under the supervision of the Technology Support Specialist, the Mac Lab Assistant instructs, supports, and advises academic employees; faculty, staff and students on methods and procedures in the usage of multimedia equipment (digital video, audio recording, digital signage), software and other related items for the academic environment. This individual will work with the site Information Technology Technician to provide instructor support through the various aspects of educational technology particularly in the implementation of Apple Macintosh platforms. This is a part-time position which is limited to 28 hours per CMC’s workweek. CMC’s workweek is Saturday through Friday.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and experience sufficient for the rigors of the position. Examples may include: Bachelor’s Degree from accredited institution plus one-year related work experience; or an Associate’s Degree from an accredited institution plus two years related work experience; or High School Diploma/GED and five years related work experience. Or equivalent education and experience that will provide the necessary knowledge, skill and abilities to perform the functions of the position. Degree in a technical or related field preferred. Special Skills or abilities directly applicable to the position: Knowledge and understanding of the instructional systems design process, Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering, instructional video production principles, methods, techniques and standards Knowledge of programming languages, current operating systems, and relevant software applications, Working knowledge of instructional computer applications, instructional media, and relevant authoring and programming languages. Ability to coordinate day-to-day activities, interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures, evaluate and edit content, structure, and format a range of written materials, understanding educational needs, ability to develop effective instructional media solutions, utilize audiovisual facilities and equipment, supervise and train staff, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments, be able to work effectively in a melt-ethnic/multi-cultural/multigenerational environment with students, faculty, staff and community, work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments to support instruction Welcoming.
