The Assistant Director of Prospect Management manages all aspects of prospect development, pipeline management and activity tracking within the Division of Institutional Advancement (IA). This position will establish the vision and priorities for prospect development and will develop and oversee the policies, practices, and reporting relating to prospect development and research.
The Assistant Director of Prospect Management and Research collaborates with IA leadership and front-line development officers to identify, prioritize and assign new major, principal, planned and annual leadership gift prospects. The position will provide information and insight to IA leadership and deliver consultative and analytical services to all IA staff including portfolio management, pipeline assessment and advancement analytics to support prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship efforts.
The position manages the Research Assistant and research request queue from the President and front-line officers and oversees the development of professional, in-depth individual and corporate briefings and a range of biographical and qualifying reports as requested.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree and three to five (3-5) years of full-time experience in prospect management, prospect research, data analytics, or advancement services at a higher-educational institution, non-profit institution or equivalent. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply.
The candidate should have excellent business and analytical skills; experience using data-driven insights; demonstrated project management and organizational skills; strong writing and communication skills and have the ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of fundraisers, advancement staff and other constituencies. The candidate is team-oriented and driven to achieve.
The candidate should have significant knowledge of prospect development and research methodologies and best practices; demonstrated ability to implement and manage new programs and services.; working knowledge of Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge and NXT database (or a similar CRM system); and, a strong familiarity with Blackbaud's ResearchPoint and/or other research subscription services (e.g. NOZA, Foundation Center, LinkedIn, LexisNexis, etc.). The candidate must possess expert knowledge of moves management and prospect management practices and concepts and should have demonstrated project management skills, good attention to detail, and ability to prioritize workload and independently meet deadlines. Membership (current or previous) in APRA is preferred.
Advanced Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint skills. Experience working with Tableau or Power BI. Excellent verbal and written communications. Experience managing staff.
Occasional travel for professional development as well as occasional after hours work.
