Events Manager
The Office of Admission seeks a detail-oriented and ambitious Events Manager. This position will develop innovative and interactive visit opportunities, with particular attention to in-person and virtual group visit programs, in an effort to reach all recruitment and diversity goals of the college. These programs must maintain as a primary focus the academic and extra-curricular offerings of the college as well as the unique benefits of our location in a metropolitan setting.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Work in collaboration with the Director for Campus Engagement to create a comprehensive roster of visit programs that further the immediate and long-term recruitment goals of the college.
- Support other visit experiences, such as individual, virtual and department-specific visits. Also in conjunction with the Office of Marketing, plan and manage graduation and other assigned campus events.
- Secure participation of various programming partners including faculty, staff, administrators, student assistants, alumni, community and business representatives, Sodexo Food Service, Physical Plant, Security, campus reservations and others.
- Oversee on-site arrangements and manage comprehensive program operations before and during program events. Proactively handle any arising issues and troubleshoot any emerging problems on event days.
- Generate and analyze all necessary pre- and post-event agendas, letters and reports.
- Monitor and manage the operating budget.
- Train, supervise, encourage and motivate full-time staff members, student assistants, interns and program-specific volunteers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required.
- 3-5 years of event planning experience desired. 5+ preferred. Desired higher ed event planning experience.
- Familiarity with topics and issues related to higher education and college selection.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs required. InDesign experience preferred.
- Successful completion of a background check, in accordance with Coe College policy.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
- Stand, sit or walk up to 8 hours.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. frequently.
