Seeking applications for Pleasant Hill City Treasurer Applications are due by 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 10, 2021.
The City is seeking applicants for the position of City Treasurer to fill a vacancy until the voters elect a new City Treasurer in the November 2022 Municipal Election and the election results are certified. Applicants must be residents and registered voters of Pleasant Hill. The City Treasurer’s compensation is set by the City Council, and is currently a stipend of $585 per month plus limited additional benefits.
Applications are due by 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 10, 2021.
Duties of the City Treasurer
The City Treasurer works closely with the City Finance Division; administers the treasury functions for the City; maintains the City’s investment portfolio; makes investments; monitors daily cash flow; and updates the City’s investment policy annually. The City Treasurer has the authority to invest money in eligible securities authorized by government code and the City's investment policy.
Under California Government Code Section 41002:
“(a) The city treasurer shall comply with all laws governing the deposit and securing of public funds and the handling of trust funds in his or her possession.
(b) If the city has issued bonds, the city treasurer shall use a system of accounting and auditing that adheres to generally accepted accounting principles.”
