The City of Fergus Falls has an opening for a full-time General Manager/Director of Sales at the Bigwood Event Center.
We are looking for an experienced General Manager with sales and marketing skills to solicit, negotiate and book new and repeat business through various efforts (telemarketing, mailings, website management, referrals, etc.) to maximize annual event center revenue goals.
Applicants must have experience in the following:
- Industry knowledge related to marketing, promoting and methods to increase sales
- Firm understanding of relevant market data, sales strategies, customer satisfaction and profit targets
- Ability to attend trade shows and other industry events in order to represent and promote the Bigwood Event Center
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Products
- Ability to forecast and maintain statistical and financial records
- General understanding of account management by ensuring account productivity by maintaining client satisfaction and continuous rapport with clients
- Accounting experience with an understanding of cost control measures
- The ability to prepare and submit weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports as needed
- Bachelor’s degree preferred with three to five years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of experience and education
