Product Developer, Distiller
Chattanooga Whiskey is growing, and we're looking for a full-time Product Developer to assist with the creation of a growing collection of liqueurs, spirit, and whiskey recipes. This hands-on role balances time in the lab with time on the distillery floor - at both Experimental and Riverfront Production facilities. Reports to the Head Distiller & CPO (Chief Product Officer).
Responsibilities:
- Ideate and experiment within a variety of liqueur and distilled spirit types
- Plan and execute various whiskey blending exercises
- Organize & track weekly taste panel
- Assist with ongoing SOP refinement/development
- Audit Whiskey Systems (production & inventory management system) for data quality on a weekly basis
- Assist in organization of barrel warehouse per annual/quarterly dumping plan
- Act as the distilling representative to the marketing team - helping primarily with new/existing product details and craft messaging
- Occasionally meet with writers/publications/clubs/enthusiasts regarding the ingredients/story/essence of a product
- Assist with distilling activities when needed
- Distilling responsibilities can include:
o Cooks, fermentation, distillation, barreling, finishing, bottling, load out
o Accurate record keeping per TTB code of federal regulations
o Operating mashing and distilling equipment including mill, cooker, still, and related transfer pumps
o Cleaning of distillery and distillery equipment

Qualifications:
- 3-5 years distilled spirits/industry experience
- Distilling experience highly preferred
- Robust knowledge of mixology and the wide world of spirits
- Bachelor's degree highly preferred
- Strong organizational habits, a self-motivated work ethic, and good critical thinking/problem solving skills
- Flexibility in terms of hours & a willingness to work a variable work schedule
- Experience with MS Office, especially Excel
- Must be able to move & lift up to 55 lbs
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time and work on a computer for extended periods
- Must be able to work inside & outside, in hot & cold environments, on wet surfaces and in high places (ladders to stillage collection)
- Leadership experience a big plus
