Senior Human Resources Business Partner (Recruitment)
JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Human Resources Business Partner (SHRBP) is a member of the Talent & Human Resources team located in either Schusterman's Washington DC or Tulsa, OK offices. Schusterman has developed a comprehensive Talent Development Framework to reflect our continued investment in the recruitment, development and retention of our professional team as part of our broader efforts to build a strong culture and deepen our commitment to equity as a core value through our Racial Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (REDI) work. The SHRBP will work in partnership with Hiring Managers to ensure that Schusterman has the right people and teams in place to advance its philanthropic vision. The SHRBP is responsible for filling open positions with the best qualified and diverse talent, including those from traditionally underrepresented groups, who add to an already strong culture and provide excellent contributions to Schusterman.
RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is a key role on the Talent & Human Resources team. Job responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Full Cycle Recruiting (100%)
Outcome: The SHRBP partners with the Talent & Human Resources recruiting team members to ensure we have a strong pipeline of the best qualified and diverse talent, including individuals from traditionally underrepresented groups, who can add to a strong culture and provide excellent contributions to Schusterman. Potential candidates will clearly understand our philanthropic vision, values, operational strategies and culture and see it represented throughout the entire recruitment experience.
- Sourcing and screening candidates in a timely and consistent manner
- Coordinate the interview process
- Facilitate offers and employment negotiations
- Ensure candidates have an expeditious, equitable and inspiring vetting experience
- Partner with another SHRBP to share the recruitment portfolio
- Partner with a recruiting team member responsible for scheduling interviews and onboarding staff
- Develop strong partnerships and communication with Hiring Managers
- Support Hiring Managers in crafting effective job descriptions; preparing performance tasks, interview questions and scorecards
- Maintain talent pipelines with potential candidates and past applicants for future staffing needs
- Consult with our internal legal department and outside employment counsel for employment agreements and compliance with employment laws related to staff recruitment
- Support the onboarding and offboarding processes
- Partner with external recruiters when needed
- Leverage data to recruit strategically and to continually assess and evolve recruitment system and practices to make sure they are effective and equitable
- Stay current on recruiting industry trends and evolving practices, as needed

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
The following qualifications are representative of the high level of demonstrated skills, maturity, judgment and ability to work with a wide range of constituencies required of Schusterman employees:
- 6+ years of experience in staff recruitment
- A Bachelor's degree, preferably with an emphasis in Human Resources, or equivalent experience
- Recent hands-on experience with full cycle recruitment within the last 2 years
- Recruitment experience in nonprofit and/or philanthropy or education a plus
- High degree of discretion and judgment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to adapt communication styles across multiple stakeholders and facilitate productive conversations
- Experience operating in a matrixed environment with a track record of building relationships, being viewed as a trusted partner and collaborator, and leading through diplomatic influence rather than formal authority
- Advanced knowledge of and ability to develop recruitment techniques, systems, and strategies
- Experience with integrating Racial Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (REDI) strategies into recruitment processes preferred
- Strong analytical skills, with a track record of using data and metrics to evaluate needs, drive change and measure impact
- PC skills (with proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint), as well as a thorough knowledge and comfort of basic web skills required. Experience with Greenhouse ATS and UKG Pro/UltiPro a plus.
