About this Position
The CAP construction inspection group inspects the work of construction contractors, CAP construction forces, and suppliers, as well as observes material testing to ensure compliance with contract specifications or industry standards during construction of new CAP facilities. Our team inspects repairs of existing facilities or construction of facilities by others on CAP property. As a Construction Inspector, you would maintain daily contact with various contractor reps to review schedules, correct deficiencies and discuss future activities. You would record incidents and prepare daily inspection reports as well as monitor CAP related permits. In-state travel could be in excess of 50% at times, and overtime would be part of this job as well. At CAP we would not only utilize your knowledge gained as an industrial electrician but will also provide training opportunities that will develop your professional growth.
About the Qualifications
A successful candidate for this position will have a high school diploma or GED; have a valid driver's license and good driving record; have either completed a state-certified electrical apprenticeship program OR have the equivalent combination of electrical training and experience; have at least five (5) years of journeyman industrial electrical construction inspection experience and must be computer literate and competent in word processing. Having a utility line locator certification is a plus. Possessing related certifications such as OSHA 10, OSHA 30, or NFPA-70E are also helpful.
