Human Resources Generalist
The Human Resources Generalist provides oversight for the administration of all activities related to human resources management. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the HR Generalist is responsible for ensuring HR programs are consistently administered, aligned with organizational goals, and are in compliance with professional standards, state and federal regulatory requirements and laws, including planning and managing all human resources initiatives, such as recruitment, hiring, orientation, day-to-day personnel issues and administering the employee evaluation program.
Human Resource Programs
- Analyze, interpret, and implement HR policies and procedures.
- Oversees and administers CRS' employee benefits offerings for competitive benefits packages to staff members and provides advice and recommendations to supervisor and Chief Executive Officer on the benefits plans and programs.
- Administers an employee evaluation system that includes complete and compliant employee personnel files, and updated position descriptions and supports supervisors in measuring individual performance that supervisors can use to define what is important and provide timely coaching and feedback to employees on their performance.
- Coordinate with CRS counsel, under the supervisor's direction, to ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements (EEO/AA/FMLA/ADA/etc).
- Attends to employee complaints and works to resolve conflicts while helping employees successfully manage themselves in the workplace.
- Administers a recruiting and hiring selection process in which, Equal Employment Opportunity and diversity are key variables woven into each step of the recruitment and selection process.
- Administers and improves upon the recruitment and hiring process, including supporting supervisors in identifying the need for creating, filling, or eliminating a position, developing position descriptions, and executing a plan for recruitment and hiring.
- Helps all exiting employees have a positive and respectful transition out of the organization.
Supporting a positive culture and climate
- Support and recommends hiring and training based on departmental needs and the organization's vision, mission, values, and strategic priorities.
- Support a diverse workplace in order to achieve a competitive business advantage.
- Supports strategic and tactical changes in the organization by helping employees successfully navigate the changes based upon the department's needs and in alignment with CRS' vision, mission, values, and strategic priorities.
- Support organizational activities and improvements that lead to increased employee engagement and productivity.

Position works in the Turners Falls MA office 5 days a week 8 am - 4:30 pm.
- Bachelor's Degree in human resources, business administration, finance, or related field and 3+ or more successful years of experience in HR management
- PHR or SHRM-CP credential preferred
- Comfortable working in a highly visible role
- Detail-oriented with strong organization and time management skills
- Excels both in working autonomously and in collaboration with others
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
- Honest, ethical, dependable, trustworthy, approachable, and consistently professional
- Experienced in mediation and conflict resolution processes

- Extremely knowledgeable in HR processes and stays current on state and federal laws that impact CRS policies and practices.
- Proficient in commonly used productivity computer software programs, such as Microsoft Office
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to use a computer for up to 8 hours/day with breaks and lunch
- Ability to talk on the phone for up to 2 hours/day
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. on occasion
