Butler County is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Director of Facilities Management. The Director of Facilities Management performs administrative and managerial duties in the maintenance and care of all County buildings and properties. The County operates over 22 separate facilities with over 700,000 square feet of building space with a staff of 9 full-time employees and several part-time and contracted employees. The Division of Facilities Management provides for grounds keeping, janitorial services, maintenance, remodeling, and major capital project planning related to County facilities. The Director of Facilities Management is expected to act with considerable independent judgment under the general oversight and policy direction of the Director of Public Works.
Qualified candidates are expected to have 5 years or more of related experience or a bachelor’s degree in a related field with at least 1 year of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates are required to have training and certification in Universal Refrigeration and have experience in management, employee supervision, building construction trades and facilities maintenance. Candidates should be able to exhibit a successful history in communications, public relations and collaboration both inside and outside the organization.
