Position Summary: The Brand Manager will provide strategic leadership focusing on consumer insights & empathy to build the Brew Dr. brand and portfolio, and grow the business. The Brand Manager will drive performance through strategic planning and integrated business management. This role requires strong leadership, P&L ownership, creativity, and project management discipline. Responsibilities include leading cross-functional teams to shape the portfolio, drive growth strategies and execution, and develop and commercialize the innovation pipeline. In addition, The Brand Manager will work closely with the leadership team on long-range and annual planning.

About Brew Dr:

In 2006, our founder Matt Thomas started Townshend's Tea Company. Two years later, we began making kombucha in the basement of our first teahouse, and it got so popular we decided to bottle it!

Today, Brew Dr. Kombucha operates from a 50,000 sq ft brewery in Tualatin, Oregon, and our products are sold in all 50 states and across Canada. We have expanded our horizons to launch Tranquil, a line of CBD kombucha, and Uplift, a line of energizing yerba mate beverages.

You may have met our mascot, Otis the sloth, who shows up under the cap of every bottle of Brew Dr. Kombucha. He inspires our motto: "Can't rush the good stuff."

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of new products and product-related marketing opportunities, from concept to commercialization, utilizing market opportunity analysis, vision and positioning development, market research plans, product design, and P&L management for new product launches.
  • Analyze market data, category trends, syndicated data, and consumer insights to identify new product white spaces and opportunities: leverage consumer and industry insights to strategize and develop new products for the portfolio.
  • Oversee market execution guidelines for products and ensure that brand standards are adhered to and executed in the field.
  • Develop annual budgets, pricing guidelines, and profitability targets; maintain the responsibility for brand P & L across the organization, including pricing and profitability.
  • Apply consumer insights and market research to understand consumer, customer, competitive environment, and channel needs for the product or category.
  • Lead marketing communications team to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer.
  • Provide in-depth market, industry, and competitive analysis and positioning.
  • Conduct product line rationalization to optimize product offering and performance and coordinate underperforming products and packages discontinuation.
  • Manage the Associate Brand Manager to train and develop into solid brand experts and leaders.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 3 - 7+ years of experience in brand/product management within the CPG Industry.
  • Demonstrated experience identifying product white spaces, building differentiated brands to meet consumer needs, successfully bringing them to market, and driving sustained performance at retail.
  • Thorough knowledge of market and brand research methods and strong ability to utilize and leverage brand insights.
  • Excellent analytical skills; experience with syndicated data a plus
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Candidate with an MBA preferred
