OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
Reporting to the Testing Director, you will be an important member of the Testing team within Product Development, directly responsible for the planning and execution of test development and test plans for new product development projects. You will work closely with Product Line teams to ensure on-time execution of all facets of testing, including requirements management, throughout the product development process. Additionally, you will work with the test team to develop new test procedures and processes that expand BOA's testing capabilities.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Regularly role model BOA's values to your team and others
- Create and manage product requirement documentation for several simultaneous product development projects in collaboration with product line teams and the test team
- Create new low- to mid-complexity test procedures, specifying new test equipment and processes, with support from the more senior Test Engineers and the Testing Director
- Create design validation and production qualification test plans with guidance from more senior Test Engineers for product development projects
- Collaborate with Design Engineers and Project Engineers to define testing needs for projects
- Define necessary support from Test Technicians and other project members to ensure on time delivery of test results to project team
- Collaborate with the test lab to schedule equipment and other resources for project needs
- Analyze test data, document results, and clearly communicate results and conclusions to project stakeholders
- Use test data and results to identify design issues and make data driven recommendations that support development of solutions
- Support the development of new product requirements as product use cases and categories are expanded to align with BOA strategic plans
- Support field test planning, review of field-tested product, and use field tested product to align lab test methods and results to correlate to real world performance.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field
- Experience with machine design
- Experience with standardized test methods
- Technical writing proficiency
- SolidWorks (or similar CAD) proficiency
- Ability to collaborate and build relationships with diverse groups of people across the globe
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of processes for plastic injection molding and creation of small metal parts
- Electromechanical and test automation experience
- Experience with Data Acquisition systems, load cells, strain gauges, and other instrumentation
- Budgeted salary range: $60,475 - $69,000
- We will determine salary based on skills and experience in relation to the function of the role, as well as equity to any other employees with similar experience in the same or similar role
- This role is also eligible for a 10% annual bonus
