Engineering Manager
Exciting opening, in support of our Specialty Vision Products division, based out of Wilmington, MA.
The Bausch + Lomb Specialty Vision Products groups are dedicated to delivering innovative products, education, and training for eye care professionals in the customized contact lens category.

Objectives:
Manage the engineering and technical support functions to ensure the site consistently achieves operational performance objectives while continually meeting all customer expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute, as part of the Site Leadership team, to establish strategic company goals, timelines and priorities. Develop direction, strategy and plans for the Engineering group in support of these site objectives.
- Manage the engineering function to promptly resolve manufacturing equipment issues to ensure that key operational goals are consistently achieved.
- Ensure that all engineering-related policies, procedures, and programs are in place and executed to provide a safe, secure, and comfortable workplace. Ensure that preventative maintenance programs are in place and followed.
- Lead the effort to identify new lens materials in coordination with Commercial and R&D colleagues. Subsequently, facilitate the development, scale-up, and manufacturing transfer of these new lens materials to the Wilmington facility.
- Identify, develop, and implement innovative processes/technologies to support the continual improvement of existing products and manufacturing operations.
- Provide technical expertise to the organization in support of raw material issues, equipment issues, product failure analysis and complaint investigations.
- Develop strategic plans for equipment/asset utilization. Effectively plan capital expenditures and execute within budget/forecasts
- Manage the Engineering/Facilities function to ensure that proper compliance to GMP's, ISO requirements and internal policies and procedures.
- Ensure that the facility operates in compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental, safety and health codes. Obtain and adhere to all necessary permits as required by law.
- Provide an environment that allows for continuous innovation, growth and development for employees and ensures the long-term vitality of the business.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Mechanical or Process Engineering. Bachelor's in other technical disciplines may be considered in conjunction with relevant job experience.
- 6-8 years' experience in a management position, within a medical device company a plus.
- Through understanding of GMP/ISO requirements pertaining to manufacturing operations.
- Excellent oral/written communication, project management, and organization skills required.
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles is a plus.
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification is a plus.
- Prior positions should include new product development, manufacturing process transfer, and project management experience
