Clinical Advisory Specialist

With a corporate mission of Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better, Arthrex has pioneered the field of arthroscopy and develops more than 1,000 innovative products and procedures each year that support all aspects of orthopedics. The Department of Medical Affairs, based in Naples, Florida is made up of over 25 physicians, physician assistants and other healthcare professionals. The Clinical Advisory Division falls under Medical Affairs. Arthrex is actively searching for a Clinical Advisory Specialist to join the Clinical Advisory team. The successful candidate will work alongside a department of expert orthopedic healthcare professionals, world class faculty, and product management. Experience as a nurse, nurse practitioner, physical therapist, athletic trainer, physician assistant, medical doctor or doctor of osteopathic medicine working in the field of orthopedics is preferred.
Main Objective: Provide Support and assistance to meet the goals of the Clinical Advisory Division within the Arthrex Department of Medical Affairs. Develop and maintain an expert understanding of Arthrex products and procedures, the science that supports those products, regulatory standards and requirements, and ongoing post market research in order to provide keen clinical guidance to healthcare professional (HCP) customers, Arthrex leadership, Arthrex employees and Arthrex business partners.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain an expert understanding of current and classic concepts in orthopedics, the Arthrex product line, and clinical procedures supported by Arthrex products.
- Articulate accurate standard and advanced concepts to HCP customers, HCP consultants and educational faculty, Arthrex leadership, Arthrex employees and Arthrex business partner and their employees.
- Support processes that allows for the creation and dissemination of accurate, truthful, balanced, non-misleading, and non-promotional scientific and medical information that is responsive to specific unsolicited request for information for clinical inquiries of "off-label" product use by outside firms, HCP customers, HCP consultants and educational faculty, Arthrex leadership, Arthrex employees and Arthrex business partners and their employees.
- This information must be free of any bias towards Arthrex products and disseminated in accordance with all applicable local, state and federal laws, regulations and oversite guidelines.
- Comply with established documentation practices for all engagements in the exchange of clinical and scientific information with any HCP or the public.
- Assist with coordination of ongoing dialogue and training with the Arthrex Legal, Corporate Compliance, Regulatory and Quality Assurance Departments to facilitate an exchange of ideas and stay current with the standards of all applicable local, state and federal laws, regulations and oversite guidelines governing clinical advisory standards.
- Assist with facilitation or provision of ongoing training on clinical advisory policies, laws and guidelines to Arthrex leadership, Medical Affairs Department staff, Arthrex employees, HCP consultants and educational faculty and Arthrex business partners.
- Provide assistance in oversite of live or recorded Arthrex Representative and HCP medical education and training programs to ensure these programs are conducted in accordance with current local, state and federal laws, regulations and oversite guidelines governing clinical advisory standards.
- HCP education programs have the sole purpose to educate HCPs on the safe and effective "on-label" use of Arthrex products and the procedures these products support.
- Assist with Arthrex business partner representative medical education programs.
- Participate with Arthrex external educational online platforms including Arthrex Consultant Connect, OrthoPedia and OrthoPedia Academics.
- In office- Naples, Florida based position
- Travel up to 20% of the time.
Skills:
- Knowledgeable of standard principles of musculoskeletal medicine is required.
- Significant knowledge of anatomy from an orthopedic standpoint required.
- Working knowledge of the use of PowerPoint required.
- Ability to clearly present a topic to a group of people from a podium is required.
- Knowledge of the basic principles of applicable laws, regulations and oversite guidelines that govern FDA 510(k) and HTCT/P clearance indications is required.
Education/ Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in one of the life sciences or related fields required.
- OR- Certification as a physician assistant or nurse practitioner is required.
- 5-years of experience in musculoskeletal medicine, or the orthopedic industry is required.
- Experience as a physician assistant, nurse practitioner, chiropractor, athletic trainer, physical therapist, MD, or DO working in musculoskeletal medicine is preferred.
