Notice of Position Opening Title: Management of Information System (MIS) Assistant
DUTIES: Primary responsibility is to assist MIS Manager in data collection, data analysis, data processing, & reporting for NEW Alliance Counseling Services (NEWACS) compliance and business activities along with Information Technology and Data Security. Provide technical (computer/software) support to NEWACS Staff. Assist MIS Manager with maintaining the agencies information system. Additionally, assist in ensuring electronic health record application meets contractual compliance, and agency meets healthcare billing and reporting requirements (i.e., CPT, HCPC, etc.). Assist agency in meeting HIPAA Privacy & Security requirements.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must have an Associate’s degree or equivalent in Health Information Management, Information Technology, Computer Science, or closely related field is required. Experience with Microsoft Office, Windows OS, electronic health records, and data entry is preferred. Abstract of driving record for past three (3) years required. Satisfactory criminal history backgrounds check results are a condition of employment.
PREFERRED: Bachelor’s degree in one of the fields listed above; two (2) years of experience in behavioral healthcare; two (2) years experience in healthcare information systems; knowledge of HIPAA and/or Hi-Tech Act; electronic data interchange (EDI); and website development.
SALARY AND BENEFITS: Benefits include health, dental, vision and life insurance, retirement benefits, holiday, and paid time off. Starting annual salary $46,790 (based on qualifications and experience.) Continuing education opportunities provided.
WORK SETTING: This position is located in Colville, WA. Colville is located 69 miles North of Spokane in the beautiful mountain setting of Steven's County. The local area has a large variety of outdoor activities to include two (2) ski resorts, boating, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, etc. as well as the many social activities such as theatre and the arts located in nearby Spokane. County population is 40,000 in a 2500 sq. mile area. The agency provides behavioral healthcare treatment services for Stevens, Ferry, and Lincoln Counties.
