Director of Community Partnerships and Programs

The Director of Community Partnerships and Programs will serve an integral role on the Senior Staff Team, leading the efforts in fostering key relationships in the community and overseeing and coordinating a variety of programs aimed at meeting the needs of our patrons.

Essential Functions:
- Provide direction and leadership in developing systemwide, collaborative programming and outreach initiatives by assessing and responding to community needs.
- Cultivate and identify key relationships with government, education, corporate and non-profit entities in an effort to make Allen County Public Library a key partner in the community.
- Supervises the staff and programming for the Library at Home program and Audio Reading Services.
- Focuses on creative approaches to partnerships and programs leveraging resources, talent and technology and with an emphasis on diversity, equity and inclusion.
- Participates on the Senior Staff Team, as well as the Management Team, working on strategic planning, policy and staff development.
- Develops and implements goals, objectives, policies, procedures and work standards for the department; assists with the preparation and administration of assigned budget(s).
- Works with the marketing department to utilize print, social media, and other means to promote initiatives.
- Conducts analytical studies; develops and reviews reports of findings, alternatives and recommendations; directs the maintenance of accurate records and files.
- Promotes and supports the overall mission of the Library by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with the public and staff; acts in a manner that promotes a harmonious and effective workplace environment.
Education and Experience:
Master's Degree in library science, public administration, or other related fields from an accredited college or university; AND four (4) years of progressively responsible managerial experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Experience in planning and managing programs and partnerships with community-based organizations and delivering outreach services to diverse communities is highly desirable.
