Registered Nurse (RN) *$5,000 Sign On Bonus* Call Center (Nights), Full Time - NO ON CALL

 

Location: Nashville, TN, Alive Administration East buildingStatus: Regular Full Time, NightsSchedule: varying schedule, includes two 7p-7a shifts and two 11p-7a shiftsHours: 40/week** (Alive has a dedicated On-Call Team, therefore this position requires NO on-call!) **

SUMMARY 

Performs triage functions for after hours program. Receives calls, plans for care interventions, dispatches on call nurses or provides phone support as needed, notifies appropriate nurse, team or outside agency of any changes.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

1. Mentors on-call staff as appropriate.

2. Performs triage role utilizing nursing judgment and process to provide effective, timely and compassionate care to patients.

3. Dispatches on-call nurses as needed and makes home visits if dictated by workload or geographical distance.

4. Provides telephone and telehealth support to family at time of death. 

5. Serves as clinical and procedural resource for on-call staff.

6. Answers calls within reasonable time.

a. Hourly monitors and responds to messages and requests.

7. Reviews triage documentation to assure accurate and timely notes.

8. Attends meetings as requested.

9. Communicates with physicians and other care providers as needed.

10. Ensures adherence to policies. 

11. Notifies on-call administrator of problems.

12. Other duties may also be assigned.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No Supervisory Responsibilities.


CONTINUING EDUCATION 

The agency requires this position to complete 15 hours of continuing education per year covering topics that will contribute to improvements in carrying out the above responsibilities. Regulatory agencies may require some disciplines to have additional hours in order to be licensed or certified.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to infectious diseases and use of an automobile. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, risk of radiation, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Usually in a general office or patient home setting.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

Registered Nurse with current license. Minimum of 2 years experience required. Hospice, Oncology or home health responsibility preferred. 


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS 

Current RN License. If required to drive to carry out the duties of this position: current driver's license and automobile insurance as required by Tennessee State Law.
