Job Overview
Provides daily management and oversight of the Health and Wellness Center. Provides nursing services.
Essential Duties & Job Functions:

Plan, coordinate, and manage the administrative and health service activities of the center.

Develop departmental budget, monitor and control expenditures. Review and recommend changes to budget authorizations.

Develop and implement new and revised policies and procedures affecting health services. Coordinate with other departments to ensure compliance with Center objectives and provide applicable training.

Manage and coordinate comprehensive wellness and health care services for students. Coordinate all phases of direct medical, dental, and mental health services for students.

Provide management and oversight of the medical subcontractors, which may include: physicians, nurse practitioners, dentists, dental hygienists, and Center mental health consultants, in the areas of scheduling, technical support, programmatic support, and collaboration among team members. This may also include mandatory meetings with Center Director, counseling and other departments as needed.

Ensure medical subcontractors review pending arrival medical files timely and provide comprehensive input and directives.

Monitor professional staff for chart documentation in accordance with PRH requirements.

Provide direction and support in the operation of the weight control, pregnancy, mental health, smoking cessation and other health related programs

Manage record keeping and reporting on student injuries, diseases and disabilities.

Serve as Center co-disability coordinator, manage accommodation plans for students and coordinate the Center’s interdisciplinary team.

Review, report and process accident/injury reports for student job related injuries. Identify unsafe practices and develop corrective measures to minimize risk and lost time accidents in accordance with corporate, government and Job Corps regulations.

Coordinate services with outside agencies and hospitals, parents/guardians, and admissions counselors.

Review and approve payment to all outside vendors, subcontracted staff and services, ensuring that expenditures are within contractual and budgetary limitations; coordinate third party payments for health-related services.

Supervise students assigned to Health Services from the health occupations career technical training program.
Job Requirements
Mandatory:
-
Licensed Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner in the State of Alaska.

Must have an active, unrestricted license to practice in Alaska.

Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in nursing.

Five (5) years related experience, two of which must be in a supervisory capacity.

Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Successfully pass background check and drug test.
Preferred:
-
Bachelor’s degree in health-related field.
