Digital Media Manager

The next you might be meeting a leading Oregon brand to help tell their story, drafting a video brief and digital content strategy.
The Oregonian Media Group in Portland is looking for a Digital Media Manager with a track record of creative digital design and project management, someone who is inspired to produce engaging content and experiment with emerging platforms.
The Digital Media Manager will work closely with our talented marketing teams on the new platform Here is Oregon, and dive into collaborations with our award-winning social media and engagement teams. The digital media manager will also support new business development efforts to promote our industry-leading digital and print advertising products. We’re looking for someone with energy and enthusiasm in telling Oregon’s story and thinking about how we strategically share it with the rest of the world.
This position gives the opportunity to do it all, including talking through strategy with top Oregon brands and building content that flexes legacy media while utilizing emerging platforms. We want to be where our audience is, and you will be expected to help us be there in smart, forward-thinking ways that elevate the content and the brand. We are looking for someone who enjoys variety, is skilled at juggling multiple projects, thrives in a fast-paced environment and loves to create clever design.
What you’ll do:
- Leverage digital media tools and content to build the base for Here is Oregon and other Oregonian Marketing products
- Plan, produce and optimize sponsor content on relevant social channels, making tweaks to content where appropriate to maximize impact
- Design and create promotional content to suit platform needs and reach audiences such as social media, web, video promotion, digital display and more
- Create content to reach maximum audience engagement for ambitious marketing projects
- Collaborate closely with our, marketing, sales, social media, and visual design team to produce and promote relevant content
- Coordinate production across teams for multi-channel partnership deliverables
- Assist social media and content team in building a robust digital media strategy
The ideal candidate has:
- 2-3 years of experience and/or a college degree in Visual Design, Communications, or a similar field
- Working knowledge of graphic design
- Headline writing and copy-editing skills
- Ability to collaborate on projects
