As an Advance Local Creative Director with NJ Advance Media, you'll define the creative vision for brands, advertising campaigns, and marketing messages. You'll work with Sales leadership to serve as a client-facing spokesperson for promoting the value that strategic Creative development adds to our clients' marketing campaigns. You'll also oversee and develop the Creative Services team, ensuring efficient operational workflow and processes.
What you'll be doing:
- Collaborate with Sales leaders to develop client marketing strategy, manage new client onboarding processes, and develop new branding for accounts
- Serve as the lead creative liaison during client presentations to pitch brand strategy, design/messaging, and empathize the value of creative assets
- Oversee the Creative team, providing direction and guidance as needed, and manage team workflow to ensure all deliverables are met
- Coach and nurture team cohesiveness and skill development
- Continually evaluate processes and procedures to ensure efficiency and productivity with the team, intervening at critical points in the workflow to mitigate issues and misalignment of resources
- Support Sales revenue initiatives and client retention
- Maintain brand continuity for clients and internal brand entities
- Negotiate and manage vendor contracts and manage use and expenses of outsources vendors and resources
Our ideal candidate will have the following:
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design, marketing, communications or related discipline
- At least 7 years of creative design experience, with direct design team management experience
- Experience participating as an active member of the Sales team in pitching the value of brand strategy and creative development
- Knowledge of best practices for brand messaging and design that resonates with targeted audiences
- Highly imaginative, with a skill for managing talent effectively
- Ability to develop multichannel marketing campaigns to effectively reach audiences (e.g. print, digital display, social media, mobile, email, direct mail, video
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with attention to detail
- Strong comfort level interacting with high-profile clients, with proven experience winning business as a result of creative strategy
- Professional business skills including project management, negotiation, and leadership
- Proficiency in Microsoft office
- Experience utilizing CMS software and Adobe Creative Suite software is required
- Experience with After Effects and Premier Pro is a plus
