The Adams Housing Authority seeks a highly qualified and experienced applicant for the full time position of Executive Director. The Executive Director is responsible for the management of 64 State Chapter 667 Elderly/Disabled units, 21 State Chapter 705 family units, 8 State Chapter 689 units, 9 State MRVP Project Based units, 5 State MRVP Mobile Vouchers, administering of 95 Federal (HUD) Section 8 vouchers and administering vouchers for the Department of Mental Health.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Four years of experience in housing management, community development, public administration or a closely related field. Knowledge of the principles and practices of housing management, finance and maintenance systems in public and private housing. One year's experience overseeing at least three staff persons. Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as strong management and organizational skills required. Knowledge of laws regulating state and federal government procedures as they relate to housing development and the management of local housing authority authority operations. Demonstrated ability to learn and use the agency's computer system is preferred. Experience working with people of various socio-economic backgrounds. Must be bondable. Certification as a Public Housing Manager through a DHCD approved Massachusetts Public Housing Administrator Certification Program is desirable or must be obtained within first year of employment. A bachelor's degree in a related field may substitute for up to two years of experience. The salary is a minimum of $80,899.00 to a maximum of $90,460.00 depending on experience and certifications in accordance with the DHCD Executive Director Salary Schedule Calculation. Required work hours: 37.5 hours per week with excellent benefits. Start Date to be determined.
