Essential Job Functions:
  • Processes all GED documentation and upholds all standards of the GED exam with confidentiality and security.
  • Administers all college assessments including
  • TSIA, makeup, accessibility services, distance learning, and correspondence tests.
  • Administer TSIA and input test scores in BANNER.
  • Organizes, facilitates, plans, and assigns testing
  • appointments with students and the community
  • Collaborates with Dual Credit Representatives from SJC and with area high schools to administer the TSIA test at district high schools. Inputs TSIA test scores into database.
  • Maintains secure storage for testing materials and student record privacy (i.e., make-up, correspondence, GED, and college assessments testing).
  • Creates student identification records in Banner System for payment purposes (i.e. Correspondence & CLEP).
  • Monitor registration for students testing on GED, HiSet, CLEP, and HESI exams.
  • Administer TSI Assessment, GED, HiSet, CLEP, HESI, make-up exams, accessibility services exams, and correspondence exams.
  • Administer TSI Assessment at offsite locations.
  • Process all paperwork and documents for all exams.
  • Communicate with various offices and faculty to receive, proctor, and return exams, and maintain organized records of completed exams and appointments.
  • Stay abreast of and uphold all standards of all exams including confidentiality and test integrity.
  • Enter TSI Assessment scores in to Banner.
  • Answer phones and disseminate testing information.
  • Assist students, staff and faculty with testing related information.
  • Troubleshoot and report problems with testing facilities, hardware, and software to Testing Coordinator.
  • Train proctors and oversee administration of offsite testing.


Additional Job Functions:
  • Troubleshoots and reports problems with testing facilities, hardware, software, and various testing vendor products and services.
  • Answer phone; disseminate testing information (schedule, procedures for registration, payment, etc.).
  • Collaborates with San Jacinto College departments (Enrollment Services, Student Services, Call Center, ITS, and other campus Testing departments).
  • Other Duties as assigned



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Must be extremely accurate and have excellent communication, proof-reading, grammar and spelling skills.
  • Must be willing to adapt to changes in policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to work unsupervised and multitask in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Must possess personal computer literacy skills.
  • Must possess outstanding customer service skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be team-oriented with the ability to work well with other staff members in the development.


Required Education/Experience:
  • Associate Degree or 4 years office experience in a college/educational environment.


Preferred Experience:
  • In-depth knowledge of testing preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of Banner preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of and ability to enforce institutional policies and procedures preferred.
  • Understanding of FERPA law.
  • Completion of college credits or some post-secondary education preferred.


Candidate must be able to work evenings (10am-7pm) and weekends.


Salary Grade: 16
