Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the world€™s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform. AWS offers over 100 fully featured services to millions of active customers around the world, to power their infrastructure. Within AWS Commercial Sales, the WW Customer Programs Team is responsible for developing and delivering programs to help our largest customers achieve transformative outcomes by working closely with AWS in their journey to the cloud. We are a team of service-oriented professionals dedicated to helping customers, at every stage of adoption, engage AWS thought-leaders and technical visionaries.

The WW Customer Programs Team is seeking a Strategic Engagements Lead with a strong track-record in client service as well as deep expertise in cloud solutions. This role serves as the trusted advisor for customers who operate complex, multi-national operations, and you will be working closely with customer stakeholders to help craft strategic business plans using cloud technology to advance a long-term, strategic agenda. This particular role supports customers in the Energy industry, requiring experience understanding the operating models of super-majors and the broader ecosystem. The ability to articulate how technology and cloud solutions can deliver long-term sustained, even transformative, value in the Energy industry will be critical for this role. You must have a strong track record delivering cloud solutions, particularly involving emerging technology and delivering innovations in the Energy industry.

The Strategic Engagements Lead has one primary objective: help AWS€™s customers in the Energy industry achieve their strategic outcomes, working with AWS and Amazon. To be successful, you must be able to work directly with customers and AWS leaders, at the most senior levels, to develop a joint business plan that defines the long-term objectives for the customer. You must also be able to drive activities within AWS as well as with the customer to advance these objectives. This requires a strong background in PMO/governance as well as a unique balance of technical depth and interpersonal skills.

Roles and Responsibilities
· Work directly with customers on large, complex transformations. Have the ability to earn trust and influence customer C-level executives
· Work across AWS Sales and Service Team senior leadership to advance customer outcomes
· As a key member of the account management team, ensure an account€™s success by collaborating closely with customer stakeholders as well as AWS Sales and Service Team leaders to define and detail joint business plans for the account. Be skilled at re-framing tactical execution plans using a strategic lens, to present for c-suite or board-level audiences.
· Participate in architectural discussions and design exercises to create world-class solutions built on AWS
· Translate broad strategic direction to workstreams anchored on AWS solutions and services
· Institute a cadence of reviews for to hold customer teams and AWS teams accountable to deliver results based on the joint business plan
· Ad-hoc analysis and project based work

Preferred locations: Seattle, WA/ New York, NY/ Austin, TX/ Mountain, View, CA/ Sunnyvale, CA/ or other Virtual locations in the US where Amazon/AWS has a corporate presence will be considered.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor€™s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Engineering or a related field
· 10+ years of experience in management consulting, IT management and solutions, and project management for complex, large-scale initiatives
· 5+ years of engagement management experience, working with large enterprises that operate geographically dispersed teams
· 3+ years of demonstrated ability to develop trust and establish partnerships among stakeholders. Ability to lead by influence


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· MBA or advanced degree in related field
· 10+ years of experience in management consulting, IT management and solutions, and project management for complex, large-scale initiatives
· 5+ years of experience in the Energy industry, preferably with a major provider or supermajor
· Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive work ethic
· Ability to operate successfully in a variety of different types of organizations €“ from lean, fast-paced start-ups to traditional large-enterprise matrix-organizations. Skilled at driving decisions and outcomes from both types of organizations
· Highly organized with multi-tasking skills; efficient in ambiguous situations
· Demonstrated ability to work across organizational boundaries
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Excellent prioritization skills, including driving multiple initiatives at the same time
