INSIDE THIS BUSINESS GROUP:

The Samsung Device Lab (SDL) develops simulation solutions for advanced semiconductor manufacturing technology requirements. The Device Lab was initiated in January 2011 and is based in Silicon Valley. The lab focuses on the development of Technology Computer Aided Design (TCAD) models and simulation software for deploying advanced manufacturing processes for semiconductor devices and materials. SDL supports logic, memory and LED technology development, as well as the development of compact models for advanced logic and memory technology.

In addition, the teams of top engineering talent at the lab conduct pioneering TCAD-based device research on extremely low-power applications, and advanced model and metrology development for the Optical Proximity Correction (OPC) used in semiconductor device manufacturing

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities will include:

Develop compact models for emerging nanoelectronic devices

Perform research on advanced logic and memory devices using TCAD simulation

Create automation and optimization tools for TCAD/compact modeling using a script language

Work as part of a global team focused on quality, reliability and performance

Identify and implement best practices for quality and efficiency

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRED SKILLS:

The qualified candidate will possess the following:

Strong background in device physics and semiconductor technology

Experience on compact modeling of semiconductor devices is required

Experience on TCAD simulation of semiconductor devices is required

Strong programming skills using a scripting language (e.g., Python, Perl, or Tcl) are required

Experience on machine-learning based algorithms is highly preferred

Experience on quantum transport (e.g., NEGF) is highly preferred

Experience on circuit performance benchmark and/or yield analysis is welcome

Experience on semiconductor process integration is welcome

Demonstrated ability to work as a team player, as part of a local and globally distributed team

Good oral and written skills for communication and documentation

MS or Ph.D. degree in EE or related fields (e.g., applied physics, material science)
