The Senior Analyst, State Accounts will use data to support decision making and improve the experiences of educators, with a focus on state education agencies. In this role, you will use analytical, technical, and organizational skills to conduct analyses of educational assessment data produced by the i-Ready suite of assessments. You will work closely with a wide variety of internal teams and external experts to ensure a high level of quality of deliverables, in line with contractual agreements specific to each state partner. Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent analytical skills, experience querying large datasets, strong communication and technical writing skills, and an understanding of social science research methods (especially those common to educational research).

The impact you'll have:

You will be responsible for conducting a broad range of quantitative analyses across districts within each state related to Curriculum Associates' suite of assessment and instruction products. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Use SQL to query and prepare analytical datasets from large relational and longitudinal databases with over 7 million records.
  • Execute analyses of school, district, and state data to help inform instructional strategies.
  • Conduct data analyses and summarize findings in response to customer requests.
  • Participate in the scoping, planning, and execution of complex data requests.
  • Execute custom research, responding to state requests for information and analysis. Example projects include:
    • Student growth reporting
    • Student performance reporting
    • Benchmarking and norming data
  • Support Request for Proposals (RFP) and Government Relations teams with technical writing and communications with state agency counterparts.

Who we're looking for:

Successful candidates will thrive in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate a record of achievement. Additional qualifications include:

  • Experience working with large relational databases using SQL.
  • Programming expertise in a programming language (SAS strongly preferred).
  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
  • Excellent project management and problem-solving skills.
  • BS in applied mathematics, computer science, education, social science or related areas (Master's Degree preferred); or equivalent experience.

We'd also love to see, though not required:

  • Experience in the field of education, especially in large districts or at the state level.
  • Knowledge of state accountability models and data collection processes.
  • Knowledge of research design principles and experience with applied statistics in education or related fields.
