Position Summary

The Security Screener performs duties to maintain the safety of students, faculty, staff and visitors, by screening for temperature and verifying COVID-19 questionnaire has been completed, prior to admittance to the building. This is a temporary position lasting at minimum two months and ongoing as needed



Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Operate Thermal Scanners as workers / students enter the building.
• May conduct screening questionnaires.
• Track any issues, counts of those entering and those denied entry, or other information as needed.
• Escalates and collaborates with departmental Supervisors as necessary.
• Inventories and requests supplies and materials as needed for the assigned station.
• Follows all protocols and procedures.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Required Education & Experience

• High school degree or equivalent.
• Must achieve satisfactory results from a background check

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Ability to relate well to people from diverse backgrounds
• Ability to use a computer with an understanding of spreadsheets and word processing.
• Ability to stand for extended periods during busy times of building entry.
• Ability to identify and solve problems in a timely manner; gathering and analyzing information skillfully
• Looks for ways to promote quality and excellent customer service; demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.

• Effective written, verbal and personal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a health care setting
• Experience in a customer service focused setting.
