We have an immediate need to hire experienced, energetic, self-driven Commercial Sales Project Developers to join our team Northern California. These roles are based in our Durham, Gilroy and Bakersfield Regions of California with remote work options. As part of the Commercial Sales team, this position is responsible for business development including generating sales for new and existing contacts within the assigned territory. Essential Functions:
2-4 Years sales experience, preferably in the solar industry; AA Degree or higher, or equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and experience to be successful
Must possess excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
Ability to build rapport and interact effectively with personnel at all levels within the Company and with vendors and business partners outside the Company
Ability to confidently discuss the benefits of Solar energy with prospective customers
Demonstrates highly ethical behavior and good judgment at all times
Effective listening, verbal, and written communications skills
Good problem-solving skills with the ability to be creative and innovative
Flexible with the ability to successfully manage ever-changing priorities as necessary
Willingly takes on additional assignments as requested
Ability and willingness to work within a team environment and travel as needed, including driving in a car and/or by plane, to engage prospects
Generate sales and develop business relationships with new and existing customers; Maintain and cross-sell existing contacts
Obtain customer authorization to analyze electrical usage and effectively conduct site surveys
Establish cooperative and positive relationships with new and existing customers
Communicate with project managers regarding client needs and system design
Diligently communicate and follow up with all customers through project build, completion, and beyond
Ensure time spent in the field is sufficient to develop, grow and maintain business, while also ensuring sufficient time is spent fulfilling administrative responsibilities such as prospect follow up, proper and timely documentation in Salesforce platform, etc.
Demonstrated ability to professionally respond to stressful situations in a patient, friendly, and timely manner
Leads by example always portraying the Company in a highly professional manner both within and outside of the office
Desire to participate and act as a true team player
Ensures accurate, timely completion of assigned responsibilities
Respectfully accepts coaching and guidance provided constructively in order to continually improve, grow, absorb and adapt
Understands office gossip is frowned upon by leadership and refrains in participating in such
PC Proficient with good knowledge of Microsoft Office, including: Word, Excel, and Outlook and report generation
Legal eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
Ability to successfully pass a background investigation including a DMV report, and drug screen
Valid California Drivers License and proof of insurance is required
Desired:
Experience working in a construction firm
2+ years of experience with solar electric installation, design, or sales
BA Degree in communication, business, or related field
OR, any combination of academic education and professional training and development, along with applied work experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
